Happy Valentine's Day!!
Poor Kaydee had to go to the doctor for her 4 year well check today....no fun getting five shots on Valentine's Day. She was NOT a happy camper....she told me "That wasn't a very nice Valentine's Day present, Mom." But her eye sight is 20/20, her hearing is good, she's 41 lbs and 3 feet 5 3/4 inches tall. In the 90th percentile for both height and weight.
Since Shane is in Florida Kaydee and I enjoyed a "romantic" lunch at McDonald's today...I'm making Kaydee's favorite seafood pasta for supper tonight. Woohooo!!!
Shane sent flowers for me and a teddy bear for Kaydee---isn't he sweet!?!
Hope y'all have a great day! Love to all!
Wendy

Abby had her 6 month well visit today with her favorite pediatrician, Dr Gross. Can you believe Abby is half way through her first year? HURRAY!
She is a porker at 18 lbs 3.9 oz, and is almost 27 inches tall.
She didn't like getting her shots, but only cried for a few seconds. What a brave girl. Hopefully her big sister will be just a brave this Thursday when she has HER check up....

Well, Kaydee's birthday party has come and gone....we had a great time!
Of course, Kaydee was happy just to spend time with her friends.....
Kaydee is BIG into Cars--especially Lightning McQueen, so she had a Cars birthday party. We made Vanity Plates, then had a "big race" ( Red Light/Green Light), played "Pin the Wheels On Lightning McQueen, made Race Flags, ate yummy treats (from Flo's v8 Cafe and beverages provided by Fillmore's Organic Fuel). Then it was time to release the gifts from the Impound Lot---Kaydee got lots of good loot.
The party ended with a trip to the Curios Shop where Kaydee gave her guests a goodie bag to take home.
We had fun and hope her friends did too!

Kaydee is 4 years old!
She had a great birthday. She got lots of great gifts--she says her favorite is her Fabulous Hudson Hornet (from the Cars movie). MeeMa and Pap were here and we all went to lunch together at Wendy's (Kaydee's choice, of course). Then MeeMa and Pap had to start for home, which made Kaydee sad. We made up for it by watching Meet The Robinsons and eating cake and ice cream.
Her party is on Saturday.....she's really looking forward to her first birthday party with her friends. She chose a Cars theme--I'll let you know how it goes!

.....and her first stitches...
She came upstairs to get her PJs on last night and I heard a LOUD CRASH and came running up to see what happened. She ran down the hall SCREAMING and blood was everywhere.
She had a 2cm gash on her forehead, right above her right eye. So I got the bleeding stopped, put a temporary bandage on it, changed her shirt and cleaned her up a bit before we left for the hospital.
We went to a different ER than DH took her to last month. We went to the hospital where I delivered Abby (it's about 10 min further) and they have a special ER just for kids--staffed with pediatricians and pediatric nurses. And since KD was born in that hospital all her info was on file and I didn't have to fill out any paperwork before she was seen. We were called right back and the nurses and doctor were AWESOME. I cannot say enough good things about the staff.
Kaydee came home drunk (from the Versed ) and with five stitches. She got to sleep with Mommy and Daddy so we could make sure she didn't wander around the house in a drunken stupor in the middle of the night.

In Memory of Uncle Ed
WE LOVE YOU!
George Edward "Ed" Wright, 66, passed away on Dec. 2, 2007 on his beloved Kanarra Mountain. George "Ed" was born Feb. 26, 1941, in Hinckley, Utah to Rodney A. Wright and Wynnie Spendlove Wright.
Ed married his high school sweetheart, Lorna Dalley, in 1959, in Delta, Utah. They later moved to Hurricane, Utah. Ed worked for the Utah Department of Transportation for 26 years and retired in 1987. Ed and Lorna later divorced. In 1996, Ed married his best friend, "Mean Woman" Anna May Gubler. Many cherished memories of happy times were made on his mountain; hunting, resting, baiting and untangling fish hooks for his grandkids. Upon completion of his new home in Virgin, he enjoyed sitting in his chair, snuggling "his babies" and giving them nicknames. Ed was a kind and compassionate father. He devoted many months to care for his ill son, Kurt, until Kurt made a full recovery. Ed was very kind and helpful with everyone. He would help anyone in their time of need. Ed was a great father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed more than words can ever say.
Ed is survived by his wife, Anna May, of Virgin; brothers, Robert (Carma) Wright of Hurricane, Elwynn (Varla) Wright of Phoenix, Arizona, John (Rachel) Wright of Oak City, Utah and Mel (Amy) Wright of Hinckley, Utah; sons, Ricky (Haven) Wright of Virgin and Kurt Wright of Virgin; stepchildren, Deborah Millet, Michael Gubler, Calleen (Wayne) Olsen, Lance (Marvene) Gubler, Troy (Debra) Gubler, and Ty (Camy) Gubler; 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; close and special family friend, Pam Humphries, Ed's special grandchildren, Jessie, Haden and Skyler; and his loyal and faithful dogs, Booger and Blu. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Wynnie Wright.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to all who searched for Ed. A special thanks to Steve Gilbert, the Washington County Sheriffs Office, the Iron County Sheriffs Office, and many family and friends.

(This is basically word for word what Kaydee told me to write)
Dear Santa,
I love you. I want you to stay for a week. I hope you like my tree. I want you to play with me. Thank you for getting me toys and visiting me last Christmas. This year I want lots and lots and lots of toys. I want a car for my Strawberry Shortcake doll and the tea party Belle doll---go down to the toy store and look down the Princess aisle and look on the left. If you can’t see it on the left, just go to another store and look. I also want the Barbie with the bike, and a baby shoes ornament for my baby sister Abigail.
I love you and I will give you a hug.
Love
Kaydee Rose

Poor Kaydee.....because of the drought she was only able to play in her wading pool a couple of times this summer. Apparently it's been weighing on her mind and today she has been insisting that she get in the pool.
I told her that it's too cold outside.
She woke up from her nap and looked out the window. Seeing the sun (it was cloudy and rainy this morning) she said, "See, Mommy--I told you it would cool off!!"
I said, "Kaydee, 'Cool Off' means it's COLD. It's too cold to go swimming."
Kaydee replied: "Well, Mommy, that's why we get sweaters on."
Today was Story Hour at the library. Kaydee brought along 2 play phones---a Minnie Mouse flip phone that makes noises and a pink plastic phone that doesn't. She wanted to bring her phones into the library with her, and I told her to leave them in the car. She insisted on bringing at least one of them because "Someone might call."
